Got off work and needed a dessert fast (in a couple of hours). Wandering around in the grocery I was thinking maybe an apple tart. Looked at the frozen pie/cake/puff pastry dough and said no.

Then I remembered my moms special weapon, brownies. Looking at the stores mix selection I chose the “Caramel Turtle”.

It was twice as much as the base mix but had chocolate and walnuts in the mix. I used that and followed the recipe on the box. When it cooled enough to cut and ready to serve put some ice cream on top and microwave for 10 seconds.

If you need a simple desert in a hurry don’t forget the brownie. This took about 1 hour and you can say “I made it”.
