Home late tonight running errands and not much planned. Actually was online with 2 pizza take out places trying to make an order and just couldn’t feel it. Had more stuff to do after I would have picked it up.
Hit the grocery on the way home and picked up some Naan bread and figured I can make a meal out of that somehow. You can do anything you want with stuff so my mind was open.
Ingredients:
- 2 Naan bread, cooked (4.4 oz each)
- Smoked sausage, 1 cup (sliced 1/8″)
- Bell or hot Pepper 2 tblsp, onion 2 tblsp (chopped)
- Sweet smokey BBQ sauce (2 tblsp or more)
- Shredded cheese (used chedder)
- 5 grape tomatoes (sliced 1/8″)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees (F) and top the 2 breads with BBQ sauce. Sizzle the sliced sausage and remove to drain. Cook onions and peppers in oil from sausage.
Here is my assembly “Mise en place”.
Add cheese of choice and onions and peppers, add sausage and sliced tomatoes. More cheese would be good but I’m keeping it light.
Some salt and pepper may be needed and hot peppers are also good. I topped it with my fermented sour kraut. Watch carefully the bread is already cooked (maybe 5/6 minutes).
I was going for a bite of sausage with each piece, but you can substitute pesto sauce and all veggies etc. If you have any kids around get them involved and make it your own.
